Kitchen Manager

The Kitchen Manager/Chef at Superflux {Cabana} in Victoria BC, is responsible for all aspects of
food sourcing, safety, training, and preparation at Superflux {Cabana}. The KM is accountable for
the execution of all dishes to our standards through the training, development, management, and
supervision of all kitchen staff.

Responsibilities Include:

Duties Include, but Are Not Limited To:

  • Execution and preparation of existing menu items,
  • Development of new items as required by management,
  • Creation and maintenance of our recipe book, and plating guide for all menu items,
  • Costing and procurement of all kitchen items as dictated by company targets,
  • Coordination of staffing and scheduling of Kitchen Team Members, including management of kitchen productivity and labour metrics as set out by the General Manager & Leadership Team
  • Interviewing, and selection of additional Kitchen Team Members in coordination with the General Manager & Leadership Team,
  • Maintenance of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the food production process, as required by Health Authorities,
  • Adherence to all sanitation and food production codes,
  • Development and upkeep of all Food Safety Plans,
  • Operating standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently,
  • Maintaining inventory records of food, supplies and equipment,
  • Covering for hourly staff in the event of illness, injury or unforeseen circumstances
  • As well as basic kitchen tasks when working service, such as;
    • Operate an industrial dishwasher, washing dishes and glassware by hand when necessary
    • Unload dishes, silverware, and glassware promptly and store them in the appropriate places
    • Carry out basic cleaning tasks around the premises
    • Assist management and waitstaff as required, especially during peak hours
    • Escalate major issues when necessary (e.g. safety risks, equipment failure)
  • Other duties as requested from time to time.
Requirements Include:

The Ideal Candidate Shall

  • Have 5+ Years of management & leadership experience in a commercial kitchen,
  • Possess exceptional attention to detail, and cleanliness,
  • Demonstrate a track record of winning as a team, via collaboration and commitment,
  • Demonstrate a track record of achieving against financial targets,
  • Possess humility, and pride for the work they have chosen do
Further Details:

Compensation:

  • $50-55k per year base salary plus bonus structure, share in weekly top pool & health spend account
  • Target earnings, total compensation 70-78k per year, 3 weeks annual vacation

BOH Staff (All Positions)

Superflux {Cabana} is seeking Back-of-House Chefs and Dishwashers to join our team. If you want to join a creative new company this is a great opportunity to add your vibes to our growing A team as we open our new restaurant in Victoria BC.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Dishwashing, Food service prep, Line cooking.
  • Understanding all menu items (Food & Beverage)
  • Consistent and efficient, Able to execute plating guides and recipes to Superflux standards.
  • Clean and sanitize work area and service areas, maintain safety protocols
  • Bring ‘Happyness’, Stay ‘Icy-Cool’
Requirements Include:
  • 1+ Years of line cooking experience (will train the right candidates)
  • Dishwashing, No experience needed just a great positive attitude.
  • Ability to work late nights (12:30am-1am)
  • Foodsafe not required but highly recommended.
  • First aid not required but recommended.
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Ability to work well under pressure

Requirements Include:
  • 2+ Years of Relevant Experience (retail, hospitality, restaurants, etc)
  • Serving it Right Certification
  • Excellent customer service and hospitality skills
  • A keen eye for detail
